Drum Lid Vacuum overview
Drum Lid Vacuums are air operated pneumatic vacuums that are used on industrial steel drums. They are primarily used for rapid spill control and reverse fluid pump out. They can be configured to vacuum dry waste so the vacuum unit becomes a complete one stop industrial vacuum system.
Pneumatic drum vacuums are very safe
- Powered by compressed air — they do not use electricity
- There are no moving parts to wear out, cause friction or create a spark
- Can be used in both wet and dry applications
- Designed and manufactured in Australia
- Four times the power of electric vacuums
- Huge 5 metre water lift
- 5 year warranty

What it recovers
Originally designed and operated in Australia for the last 15 years, this vacuum system has been sold and used extensively with most of Australia's top industrial companies for the recovery of:
- Abrasive blast media
- Dry chips and plastics
- Flammable fuels
- Combustible dusts
- Oils and coolants
- Heavy sludge
- Marine bilge
- Flour and sugars
- Grains
- Chemicals
- Powders
- Fly ash
- Coal dust
- Metal chips and warehouse debris
- Muds and slurry
How the power unit works

The Drum Lid Vacuum power unit is bolted to a galvanised steel drum lid. The system has twin venturis that create the pneumatic power. The screw handle is designed to block off one of the venturis in reverse mode, which increases the pressure inside the drum to facilitate reverse fluid pump out. This is completely safe, as one venturi is open to allow excess pressure build-up to be released through the second venturi and through the suction port in reverse mode.
The yellow silencer box is manufactured from 5005 alloy and bolted to the lid with stainless steel bolts.
